If you have a smartphone, then you have the potential to make great photographs.  But how do you turn your creative vision into reality? In this workshop you will use exciting, new and inexpensive photo apps to discover the potential of your smartphone camera. Led by veteran photographer and educator Leland Foerster, the up-beat three-hour workshop combines a practical introduction into techniques of smartphone photography with a hands-on ramble around the Ocean Beach Pier and the funky shops near the waterfront. After the photography session, the group will reconvene for a lighthearted class critique of images projected on screen.

Launching of the Cinema Select Program at the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego (MOPA)

Exciting new program!

Each month, our staff will select three movies, and MOPA's visitors will get to choose which one of these they want to play at MOPA by voting on our website.

This month and the first movie will be screened . Our visitors had to choose between King Kong, Tootsie, and Grey Gardens, all starring Jessica Lange, since we currently have the Jessica Lange: unseen exhibition running. Grey Gardens, a 2009 movie, got the most votes and will be on our screen at 7pm tonight. The cost is $4 for members, $6 students and seniors, $8 general admission.

Earth day is planned for April 22nd this year, next month our visitors will have to choose between three post-apocalyptic movies.

Please enjoy in participating and get more information about this program on our website: http://www.mopa.org/cinema-vote and http://www.mopa.org/event/2013-03-14/cinema-select-jessica-lange.
