Lynn Ely, Fiber Sculptures,"Nature's Art Re-Created", through Septmber 3 at the Encinitas Library

Nature's Art, Recreated" with Lynn Ely

Through September 3, 2013, the Encinitas Library is proud to exhibit Lynn Ely’s, Natures Arts Recreated, fiber Art Sculptures.  Intricate sculptures using pine needles and Irish waxed linen and natural stone.  Each piece becomes artistically enhanced by it setting in a surround of sculpted coils of pine needles which can be opened stitched or covered in a tight wrap of waxed linen.
Lynn Ely was born in Stockholm Sweden, and came with her family to southern California where she attended schools in Santa Monica and the San Fernando Valley. Her B.A. degree from Calif. State Univ. at Northridge includes a specialization in art. Her continuing studies in art include: design, ceramics, leaded stained glass, and silver wire wrap jewelry, several different types of loom weaving, pine needle coiling, drawing, painting, collage, printmaking & composition.

 “It is very exciting for me to share my work in shows and galleries”, she says. Lynn has won numerous awards in local juried art shows including Second Place and Honorable mention at the San Diego County Fair. Her work can be seen at the San Dieguito Art Guild’s Off-Track Gallery in Encinitas, COAL Gallery, Art Center at Fallbrook and Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery.
