CALL TO ART ALLIANCE ARTISTS. BOTANICA: Artist Alliance at SD Botanic Garden



Oceanside Museum of ArtBOTANICA: Artist Alliance at SD Botanic Garden
On View: September 30, 2018 to November 1, 2018

This is a call to artists who are members of Oceanside Museum of Art Artist Alliance: You are invited to submit any number of entries for consideration in this juried art exhibition presented by Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) that will take place at the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, CA.

Theme: All things related to Botanicals. Consider artwork with landscapes, trees, leaves, flowers, desertscapes, underwater plants, any and all types of foliage, or any subject matter including the above.

Juror: Naomi Nussbaum (see the juror’s bio at the end of the Detailed Guidelines for Entry)

Artists who are not a member of the OMA Artist Alliance but are interested in participating in this exhibition must submit their membership application for Oceanside Museum of Art with the Artist Alliance add-on before submitting artwork for consideration. Details on how to join can be found in this prospectus. (See Item # 3 under Detailed Guidelines for Entry.)

SUMMARY
Exhibition Location: Ecke Building gallery, San Diego Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024.


Eligibility: 
Must be current Oceanside Museum of Art member with the Artist Alliance add-on..
Submission Fees: $20 for the first entry, $10 for additional entries
Artwork details:
Original two-dimensional work, no larger than 50” high x 50” wide INCLUDING FRAME.
Original wall hanging three-dimensional work, no larger than 50” tall x 50” wide x 4” deep INCLUDING FRAME. Artwork must be wall mounted and ADA compliant, i.e. protruding no more than 4” from the wall.
Artwork may be in any media or style and must be appropriate for all ages.
Submissions: All submissions will be processed through onlinejuriedshows.com
A maximum of two (2) artworks per artist may be selected by the juror.

TIMELINE:
Submissions open: June 4, 2018
Submissions close: August 6, 2018, 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time (PST)
Final acceptances announced: On or before August 23, 2018
Artwork drop-off at SD Botanic Garden: Saturday, September 29, 2018, 10:00am and 12:00pm
Exhibition on view: September 30, 2018–November 1, 2018
Reception: Sunday, October 14, 1:00 – 3:00pm
Artwork pick-up from SD Botanic Garden: November 2, 2018, 10:00am – 2:00p

GUIDELINES:

You are encouraged to submit a variety of sizes. There are many spaces for smaller pieces.
If you are unsure of the external dimensions of your submissions, please measure for the sake of accuracy. If artwork arrives at the gallery larger than submitted dimensions, it may be rejected and returned at artist’s expense.
Artwork must be appropriate for all ages. Tasteful nudity is allowed.
Artwork requiring special or unusual lighting, electricity, or methods of installation cannot be accommodated.
If the artwork is unframed, edges must be finished, gallery wrapped, or painted out.

D Rings must be installed on the back at precisely equal distances from the top. Please no wires.
Selected artwork must be delivered to SD Botanic Garden’s Ecke Building gallery Saturday, September 29, 10:00am - 12:00pm. If there is a conflict please contact Kay Colvin at kay@oma-online.org to assist with special arrangements.

DETAILED GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY
1. ENTRY DEADLINE: 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), August 6, 2018.

2. EXHIBITION: Artworks will be selected by juror Naomi Nussbaum to be exhibited September 30, 2018,through November 1, 2018 in the Ecke Building Gallery at San Diego Botanic Garden, located at 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas, CA.
3. ELIGIBILITY: To submit artwork for consideration in this exhibition, you must be a current member of Oceanside Museum of Art with the Artist Alliance add-on. Artists who are not a member of the museum and Artist Alliance but are interested in participating in this exhibition must submit their membership application before submitting artwork through Online Juried Shows. Scroll down to locate the exhibition “BOTANICA by Artist Alliance at SD Botanic Garden” and follow the directions for entry. When filling out your artwork information for this show, please be sure all information and spelling is correct. All information entered by the artist will be used “as is” throughout the entire exhibition. Entry form must be completely and accurately filled out providing all requested information regarding the artwork and the artist. No changes can be made after the entry deadline, 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), August 6, 2018.

City of Encinitas, Cultural Arts Seeking Artists to Exhibit in 2018

The City of Encinitas - Parks & Recreation, Cultural Arts, invites artists to apply and exhibit two-dimensional and three-dimensional art, to be selected for one of the city’s three art galleries; Civic Center Gallery, Encinitas Library Gallery or the Encinitas Community Center Gallery. Both amateur and professional artists are encouraged to submit an application for consideration. 
All proceeds from the sale of art goes to the artist, there are no fees or gallery commission. “The visual art program is a service to Encinitas and San Diego County artists.

"I was very fortunate to have artwork exhibited in a show with the city of Encinitas, and to sell nine paintings, far beyond my expectations,” said artist Neil Brooks.

Artists who want to be considered for a gallery exhibition must complete an online application and submit digital images of their artwork. Application and instructions are available on the Visual Art page on the website: http://bit.ly/2oLKeK7 ,

North County Society of Fine Arts is now accepting entries for the:
Annual Open Juried 2D Art Show 2015 - POWAY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, 15498 Espola Road, Poway, CA 92064.

SHOW DATES: March 31 through April 28
DEADLINE FOR ENTRY:  Monday, March 2, 2015

Prize Money:  Total Prize Money of $1,100 will be awarded to 13 artworks                              
          
Entry Fees:
NCSFA Members: 1 Entry @$25, 2 entries@$30, 3 entries @$35
Non-Members:       1 Entry @$35, 2 entries@$40, 3 entries @$45
*First time members: Your membership fee is good until May 14, 2015

Juror: Elaine Harvey
Elaine Harvey works in transparent watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media in a style which combines realistic and abstract elements.  She is an award-winning artist whose paintings and observations on painting have appeared repeatedly inside and also on the cover and editorial page of The Artist’s Magazineand in a number of books and articles by her fellow artists and arts writers. Jury assignments have included National Watercolor Society and many civic and art society competitions throughout the United States.

A Charity Auction Opportunity for Artists

The San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization (CECO) will be hosting an upcoming charity auction. CECO is a non-profit, employee-managed organization that raises money to support local non-profit agencies and eligible employees in need, and they are holding a silent auction in October as part of their annual fundraising campaign.  The organization would love to have artwork of all types and price ranges donated to be part of this event.  All items donated will be listed online so that all of their nearly 15,000 employees will be able to participate in the silent auction. Since 1956, CECO has distributed millions of dollars to non-profit agencies in support of a variety issues impacting the San Diego community including homelessness, veterans in need, at-risk youth and the Access and Functional Needs populations.

ENCINITAS 2015 CALL FOR ARTISTS - Be Part of the Art


The 2015 CALL TO ARTISTS is open for FREE submission. Each year 46 talented 2D and 3D artists have the opportunity to exhibit in one of three galleries located within the City and we look forward sharing your art with the community.

The process is simple.

APPLY: On the website at: http://www.ci.encinitas.ca.us/index.aspx?page=316. We provide the Instructions and the Application (in a fillable PDF form). Please submit up to 10 JPG digital images of artwork that will be in the exhibit. Email the completed application and JPGs to arts@encinitascalifornia.gov

This is a free submission and is juried by the Visual Art Selection Committee, with notifications in October 2014. Deadline to submit will be August 30, 2014, 5:00pm.
