“Out of Bounds” was chosen for a solo art exhibition, April 2 – June 30, 2018 at the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library in Cardiff, CA. Cheryl Ehlers who is known for her dynamic and colorful acrylic paintings, will display a new abstract collection.

The Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library showcases local artists, 4 times during the year, and is active in the community presently numerous programs for residents. Curated by Susan Hays, the Library is located at 2081 Newcastle Ave, Cardiff, CA 92007, 760-753-4027. 

Hours: Open M-T, 9:30am-6:00pm, W-TH, 9:30am–8:00pm, F-SAT, 9:30am-5:00pm.

New Exhibit at the Encinitas Community Center Gallery - Cheryl Ehlers: "Bird is the Word".
This colorful gourd sculpture collection is created from long-handle dipping gourds, known as drinking gourds. The bird designs evolve from the original shape of the gourds and are developed into one of a kind personalities. They are whimsical and fun, and are cataloged and registered with the Library of Congress.

Inspired at an early age by her father's painting and sculpting Jayne majored in Graphic Arts at San Diego State University and began her career as a computer artist. Jayne's background in graphic design is seen in her paintings; they are bright and bold with a strong sense of design. She paints what inspires her, capturing a moment in time. 

Her work is influenced by her personal day-to-day experiences as well as her travels abroad. Jayne specializes in watercolor and displays her work around San Diego. Her works include local scenes, figures, landscapes, animals, and commissioned work.

Classes: Mondays from 12:00-3:00pm | Tuesdays from 1:30pm-4:30pm | All levels are welcome.
